How I came to learn about this orphanage:
Over a year ago I registered my daughter and I with an institute called equraninstitute.com which connects you with a teacher who will give daily lessons in Quran. I was connected with a wonderful teacher named Sr. Touba. She gave Ameera and I lessons daily with patience and consistency often going above and beyond her requirements. One day as she was giving us our lessons she apologized for some noise in the background. When I told her it was perfectly ok and not to worry she mentioned to me that she lived in an orphanage and that is why it is noisy sometimes and that she apologized for the inconvenience. I was completely taken aback and shocked by this news. I immediately asked her if there was anything I could do to be of help and she responded with "No, thank you, I have a very nice life here, just please keep us in your prayers."
They stayed on mind everyday and so gradually I began to ask her more questions for information on herself and the orphanage and girls that stay there. She revealed there are currently 72 girls from ages ranging from 3-15 years old, and the orphanage is goal is to provide them with an education in Islam, English, and arts and craft such as sewing. My family and I had the honor of speaking with 30 of the girls on a Skype call. It was a wonderfully humbling experience to say the least. If you would like to donate to these children please click the link below. All proceeds will go directly to the orphanage.
